I always say my Mom is the ultimate “Mom” she does it all. If Pinterest were invented when we were kids, she would have had the most pinned items. She made us shirts, she made stained glass art, she sewed, she cooked, the house was always clean, there were always freshly baked cookies… You get the picture. Now that we are “grown up” (I use that term loosely, as we all remain very immature 😉 ) she (now YaYa) comes to visit and we do fun projects together. This past week was no exception. Not only did she clean my house, bake cookies with Chloe, and baby sit the kids so Hubs and I could go to dinner… She also brought along a magazine with a super cute idea. Our coffee table was once my desk. We just cut the legs off of it. It was pretty ugly, but the kids could spill on it and color all they want. Still, I was looking for a pop of color in our living room and really wanted an ottoman. My Mom took notice, as always, and thought we could turn it into an ottoman. So we did 🙂 Yay Mom!
The steps were very simple..
Sand and paint the desk
Glue foam to a piece of plywood the same size as the desk/coffee table
Wrap foam and plywood in batting, staple gun it together.
Wrap fabric around that, staple it together.
Use short screws to fix the plywood to the desk from beneath.
Voila! 🙂
That is so adorable! I love that idea and might just use that in my living room which is looking pretty bland these days.
Thank You! Definitely let me know how it turns out! 🙂
Looks good! I used that SAME fabric recently to cover one of my office chairs…love the yellow with it, I’m not that brave. 🙂
Thank you! I ended up really loving the yellow, but it definitely scared me at first haha 🙂
Love the final product! From the fabric pattern, bright yellow, to the contrast between the two. Absolutely adorable and vibrant! Fantastic idea!
Thank you, Raye!
Please don’t laugh , what’s batting the plywood and fabric ??
