These are 2 things I’ve waited a long time to buy and wish I would not have waited.
First, our new vacuum cleaner. The Miele.
My Mom has had one for over 10 years and it’s never skipped a beat. Her vacuum still worked better than our 1 year old Hoover. That’s when I knew we needed to just break down and buy the darn thing. Once I got to the store, I was able to avoid the sales pitch because I’d already done my research and knew exactly what model I wanted and everything. Ours is the Miele Callisto.
We named her, Callisto Flockhart.
My sister has the Capricorn, it’s way more expensive and (sorry Tootie) the only difference is the electronic controls on the handle. Not worth an extra several hundred dollars in my opinion, just sayin’. Also we have always pronounced it Mee-Lee, and apparently it’s Mee-La. That’ll save you some embarrassment should you encounter the same sales dude as I. He was kind about the way he corrected me, however 🙂 In the past 7 years my Husband and I have gone through enough vacuum cleaners to have bought one and a half of these. This one has a 7 year warranty and has been tested to last for 20 years for a family of 4. It’s amazing and cleans carpets better than any Dyson or other high end vacuum I’ve ever seen. It’s the best, promise. I hope I didn’t tick anyone off by saying it’s the best… I know you Dyson owners are fierce, but give ‘ol Callisto Flockhart a try and I think you’ll agree.
My next favorite thing is this Bose Soundlink Wireless Bluetooth speaker…
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this. Our morning dance parties are way more fun now now that the music isn’t rattling out of my iPhone. My Husband and I still cannot believe how great the quality of sound is that comes from this little thing.
It’s super portable, and lasts for hours without having to plug it in to recharge. Usually when I buy something out of my comfort zone I have a bit of buyers remorse, not so with this little thing. Here is a short list of instances when I use this speaker:
All.
Day.
Long.
On the real, though..I use it in the bathroom while I’m blow drying my hair and putting my makeup on. I use it in the kitchen while I cook meals and clean up. I use it in my office the entire time I’m working. Side note about using it in my office, it’s so nice to have the speaker across the room from me so the music is not coming out of my computer speakers and all up in my face loud like. My Husband uses it in the garage while he meticulously cleans his truck for hours on end, or plays darts, or brews his beer. My daughter uses it to listen to Disney Pandora and have dance parties throughout the day. We use it to help put our 4 month old down for a nap (Jewel Lullaby CD, awesome). Seriously, this thing is constantly in use. Love, love love.
Also, it’s bluetooth so you can use it with any bluetooth compatible device. Kids watching a movie on the iPad? Speaker works for that! Husband have an obsession with Bejeweled Blitz and likes to hear the clinking noises as he “dominates everyone’s scores” ya mine either, but it would work for that purpose as well… Here’s a link, Bose SoundLink Wireless Speaker.
I kept thinking about how much everyone could benefit from these two things, and how much simpler they’ve made my life, so had to blog about it. That’s all for now 🙂
