If you have followed my blog for any amount of time you have most likely heard me “rage” against artificial sweeteners. Namely, aspartame and sucralose. They are in everything. I recently purchased my daughter a “healthy” lunchable and noticed the little drink packet you pour into the water has sucralose in it. Ahhhh. I am one of the lucky few who are very sensitive to the effects of these artificial sweeteners. Here is a blog I wrote last year detailing side effects I experience every time I ingest this poisonous crap.
Which brings me to the point of this post
I love to drink something with a little “fizz” but am not a fan of full calorie sodas, and definitely not their diet counterparts. So I created this very simple drink this week which has me super happy and feeling fulfilled once again …
- Lime Perrier
- Pomegranate Juice
- 1 Packet of Truvia (Stevia) for added sweetness – optional
Mix a splash (or however much to taste) of pomegranate juice into a glass of Lime Perrier or sparkling water of your choice. Mix in a packet of stevia, then add some ice. It’s delicious ![]()
Try it with any juice combination, you could even add some fresh squeezed fruit juice, the possibilities are endless!

I’m always looking for tasty, healthy drinks– thank you! Sidenote…I love my Modern Blogger theme (designed by you!) and was wondering how you add the Pinterest “counter” button? Is that an option on the Genesis framework? Thanks again for all the great ideas.
I’m so glad you like it!
Here is a link to the pinterest tutorial I used, http://www.briangardner.com/pinterest-pin-it-button/
Thank you! All that code makes me nervous, but I will give it a try!
I loved hearing about your fmaliy trip, but hope the Good, Better and Best Series will continue once you get home and settled back into a routine. I’d like to know more about pasta, seasonings, nut butters, fats and other areas as well.
made this last night and again this afternoon. It’s actually pretty good! thanks for sharing. Hope you’ve been well and hope your girls have been well. xo
Yay! I’m so glad you liked it
Me and the girls are doing wonderful, thank you! I hope you are well!
I’m back again to get your opinion on Xylitol…are you familiar with it? http://www.xylitol.org/about-xylitol
It claims to be a natural sweetener, and they now make Spree gum from Xylitol. Just wondering if it’s better than some of these other artificial sweeteners? (I can’t give up my gum chewing habit!)
You know, I haven’t done any research on it at all :/ I’ve stuck with Stevia for pretty much everything and now pop Altoids instead of gum to avoid sucralose or aspartame. Let me know if you find anything out and I will do the same!
