One of the most difficult things to do as a Mom and Wife is ensure your family is getting the proper nutrition while still enjoying their meals. I struggle with this weekly as I spend a few hours every weekend developing a meal plan and weighing the pros and cons of each meal before finally finding a good balance. Once I find that balance I have to organize the grocery list. Once I organize the grocery list I start looking for coupons. This is an incredibly tedious process and always somewhat stressful as I feel the pressure of keeping my family well fed and happy. I love to cook and being able to eliminate the stress of figuring out what to cook is a nice little break 🙂 Enter, eMeals!
eMeals relies on a team of experienced meal planners, writers and editors to create new dinner menus every week that are designed around grocery store sales, seasonal specials and diet preferences. For as low as $5.00 per month, subscribers download a recipe plan for the week with a matching aisle-by-aisle grocery list. The easy-to-follow recipes usually contain fewer than seven ingredients to allow for prep times of less than 30 minutes. It also helps families stay within a predictable budget by being prepared with a detailed list to use at the grocery store.
The eMeals program has over 30 meal plan options to choose from and provides a consistent and reliable approach to food budgeting by factoring the weekly cost of ingredients into each menu plan. Menus are created around a budget of $80 per week for families and $40 per week for couples.
eMeals was created by sisters Jane DeLaney, mother of four, and Jenny Cochran, mother of three. The sisters were frustrated by the challenge of coming up with healthy, budget-conscious meals for their own families and inspired by their own mother’s frugal ways, they launched the program in 2003.
Seriously a genius idea! When you log into Emeals there are links for downloading both your meal plan and your grocery list.
The recipes are super quick, easy and delicious. I’m a regular meal planner, but for those of you who are not, knowing what you’re having for dinner each night at the beginning of the week alone is so relaxing 🙂 It’s also nice that you can post the list on your refrigerator for the family as kind of a “heads up” this is what we’re having tonight. By eliminating all of the leg work you’re left with spare time to spend with your precious family and a great meal to enjoy each evening as an added bonus 😉 Check out the eMeals blog for recipes, tips on how to simplify your life, organize your days, and plan family fun. www.maketimeforfamily.org
