Simple Valentine’s Day Mailbox

I remember Valentine’s Day in Kindergarten being my favorite day of the year. Our teacher, Mrs. Jones, set up this elaborate post office in the back of the room. We would all decorate Valentines with glitter, glue, stickers, “warm fuzzies”, and as much of a little note as you can write in Kindergarten. Then we would take them to the “post office” and the “Postman” (we all took turns) would place your valentine in the correct mailbox. It was so much fun.

I purchased this fun little mailbox from JoAnns Fabric right before Christmas, I want to say it was $5. We used it for Chloe to send people Christmas cards and such. I decorated it with snowflake stickers and she loved it. For Valentine’s Day I just took the stickers off and replaced them with glittery hearts. Then used my new Silhouette Cameo to cut her name out of this fun, pink, glittery paper. I then used “Zots” to glue her name to the mailbox. She loves it :) You could also just purchase letter stickers at the craft store. I needed an excuse to try my Cameo out for the first time. We leave little love notes in there for her at night sometimes, she gets so excited to wake up and find a little surprise in her mailbox. Cute, simple and inexpensive little project that is sure to bring hours of fun for your little one.

They have these at Target for $1.00. I purchased a ton of them for our upcoming Valentine’s Day party. We are using them in a similar way. Very cute. Why am I so jealous of this font in your comments fields….. ;)

I grabbed ours from the $1 spot at Target too! Starting February 1st I am going to leave a little suprise for each of my kids in their mailbox to find everyday. It will be something cheap less than a $1. My husband is currently deployed so I think I am also going to print his emails he sends them and stick them in there as well. I can’t wait to start!
