I absolutely love having this chalkboard in our kitchen. We use it for everything. Menus, welcome home signs, parties, teaching, reminders, lists etc.. Best of all, it was super easy!
Supplies:
2×4 foot ply wood from Home Depot
Paint brush
Chalkboard paint
Chalk – i Love crayola outdoor chalk, the colors are extra vibrant
Hammer
Nails
You just paint a few coats evenly onto the piece of wood, wait for it to dry and hang it on the wall 
And there you have it
Ways you could get extra creative with this:
Cut your wood into a shape, use markerboard paint, paint a border around the board, use crown molding to frame your chalkboard, paint an entire wall
