These things seem to be everywhere lately, I myself have purchased a few headbands and hair clips from various etsy stores. They’re so darn cute and you can dress them up or down. You can wear them or your kid can wear them. They’re a great gift idea and with all of the tutorials available online you can make one to match a specific outfit. After seeing a ton of tutorials online I decided to try my hand at making a few. There are links at the bottom of this post to various tutorials I read, so the pictures are just random ones from my process rather than step by step…
So I bought some fabric at Hobby Lobby (I’m obsessed with Hobby Lobby)

and I also bought fabric glue, stiff felt for the flower backing, hair clips to glue on the backs and used my 2 inch scalloped punch (you can find this in my amazon widget in the sidebar) to punch the backs for the flowers out of the felt…
How cute is this fabric, by the way? It immediately made me think of Kim over at The TomKat Studio ![]()

So I drew my circles on the back of the fabric..

Then I tried the rosette tutorial out with the help of my little one ![]()

We ended up combining the two since we couldn’t think of what else to put in the center of the folded flowers..

We tried a few different fabric combinations. The black fabric was less forgiving with the “clear” drying fabric glue, lesson learned ![]()

So here’s what I think… I love these flowers and enjoyed making them, and would definitely make more in the future. There are some much better quality flower makers on Etsy, however, so I think I would leave it to the pros if I had an important event coming up

Those are so cute! I found some sort of like those for my wristlet key fobs that I make. I that is a cute idea to put another flower in the middle. I have been putting buttons in the middle of mine. Definitely will have to try making these.
