Painting With A Twist!

A couple of weeks ago Candace suggested we have a girls night and try this new place called Painting With A Twist. Candace always knows about the cool stuff to do and fun places to go on playdates. I feel like such a nerd Mom for not having heard of this, or the really neat kids museum we took the kids to a while back. Thank you for keeping me hip Candace! This would also be a neat idea for date night ;)

So, you go to their website and pick the date you’d like to go and/or the painting you’d like to re-create. They have a calendar that shows what painting they’ll be recreating each day. You can also book private parties and choose to do any of the paintings on whatever date you like. “The concept pairs instructional art with friends, wine and a lively instructor to produce individual works of art.” Sound fun? It was a blast :) You bring wine and they supply everything else.

Our professional artist/instructor happened to have her masters in opera. They take you step by step through this professional painting and in the end you have something that resembles the original (hopefully…) :)

I’d like to think my painting is worth a little coin considering it’s the first wine glass I’ve ever seen with the ability to defy gravity… Thank you Dad for pointing that out.

We had a lot of fun, I’d definitely do it again.

Check out their website and see if there is a location near you: PaintingWithATwist.com

What a cute idea! There is a pottery painting place in town-Express Yourself-that my girlfriends & I and my husband go to for a girls night out or date night. We always have a blast & get to use some creative juices! Painting a canvas is such a good idea too! I’ll have to see if we have anywhere like that in NC. Thanks for sharing!

Margaux, that sounds so neat! I found a place local, in Fort Worth, TX, called “Earth to Art”. It’s a similar pottery experience like you mentioned. I’m scheduled for my first couples pottery class with my hubster soon. I can’t wait to try it out!

This is so cool! No locations in NY. :( But a few in FL, maybe next time I visit my mom we can do it. :)
