One of my favorite things to do as a kid, around Valentine’s Day, was cut hearts out of construction paper and decorate the walls, refrigerator and whatever else my Mom would let us tape the hearts to. They’re really simple to make and the kiddos will have fun decorating them.
Just fold a piece of construction paper in half and draw half a heart onto one of the sides, then cut along that line. Or you can freehand cutting the heart half. Then unfold and there you have it!
If your kids are old enough you could draw the line and let them cut along the line. If you have little ones just cut the heart out and give them some crayons to decorate their hearts. You can punch holes in the hearts and string them along some fishing wire or yarn to make festive Valentine’s garland.
In searching for a picture of a construction paper heart, I found this blog. Check it out for more home spun V-day decor ideas.
Tomorrow I’ll be posting my favorite idea for Valentine’s Day, I can’t wait to share it with you all!
