Healthy Holidays
Embrace the Season Without Tipping the Scale
What’s not to love about the holidays? It’s a time filled with family, food, friends, food, festivities, food…and yes, even more stuffed, fried, glazed, and creamed holiday food.
With that in mind, here are some special FabFitFun tips, so you can enjoy the holidays’ many tasty temptations and still be able to zip up your skinny jeans on New Year’s Day.
Breakfast is still the most important meal of the day: When you starve yourself before a big party, it usually leads to overindulgence…because you’re starving. Eat a healthy breakfast and a few small meals throughout the day to prevent going overboard.
This is not the time to be the leader of the pack: Don’t rush to the front of the buffet line. Situate yourself towards the end and let others go ahead of you. You’ll have less time to pile up on seconds if you’re the last to sit down. You’ll also rack up some much-deserved brownie points with your graciousness. (Did someone say brownies?)
Be a savvy sipper: Go ahead and have a glass of wine or two, but remember to enjoy in moderation. You can pace yourself by sipping less caloric drinks between cocktails. Think club soda, water, or even juice. We love Tropicana Trop50, which has 50% less sugar and calories, and no artificial sweeteners (the Pomegranate Blueberry is a festive and fruity must try!).
Eat dessert: What?? Yes, eat the dessert. It’ll help prevent you from feeling deprived later and consequently raiding your fridge. The key is to just eat a small piece of it!
