Our Thanksgiving Menu

We have a relatively large family and therefore a larger than, what I would consider normal, menu. “The Aunts”, as we respectfully refer to my Mom and her Sisters, have a motto regarding this time of year: go big or go home. The presence of “The Aunts” is instantly felt when you’re in the same room as them, they’re crazy. Crazy fun & fabulous cooks Here they are with their Mom at my Sister’s wedding last November. From left to right: Aunt Jennifer, Gram (the Mom), Aunt Mel, Jackie (My Mom), Aunt Ninna (Melinda)

We can’t forget about Duane (Dugan), a rockin’ cook that definitely holds his own with “The Aunts” each and every year. He makes some mean enchiladas too!

We all get to benefit from their love of cooking I’ll include links to recipes that are already on MomAndWife.com and external links to sites with the others. If something isn’t linked the recipe will be posted shortly. So, here goes…

I have officially gained 10 pounds by simply typing this menu… I’ll be waddling back here Friday to write about our Turkey Day festivities…complete with pictures. One of my favorite Thanksgiving pictures is of my Dad’s Mom, Nanny. She had a little too much wine and fell asleep in the living room of my Aunt’s house. So, naturally, we seized the opportunity to take pictures of us all hanging out around her while she cat napped
To get a better idea of just how Griswold our family is, I present you with this…

My Brother, Mom, Dad, Me & Chloe, and My Sister in matching homemade (by my Dad) tie dye shirts. This was taken right before we road tripped to Gulf Shores Alabama Summer of 2009. We have a lot of fun together, but we’re absolutely that nerdy family who likes to road trip and wear matching shirts.

Friday’s post ought to be an eventful one
